SA United shows thier support to the Haitian National Team
For a few short weeks the Haitian National Team was in San Antonio preparing for a match up versus one of the world leaders in soccer, Argentina. Their trip was financed by the San Antonio Sports Foundation who stepped in to help the Haitians after several other cities turned them down. The SA United family showed their support through donations to the SA Sports Foundation to help with the effort. Jay Sparrow, our club’s Director of Coaching wrote, “The experience was great for our young players of San Antonio, for them to have the opportunity to come face to face with National soccer players who have had life experiences only imaginable to most of us. The Haitian players are a prime example of just how uniting and influential the game of soccer can be all over the world. Shutting down our club for a night to go and support them at their game versus Trinity University was the least we could do.”
